The Red House

William Morris: Pioneer of the ‘arts and crafts’ movement, writer, architect and socialist. I visited the Red House, that was designed and built for Morris as part of my work annual ‘away day’.

The Red House

The house is unusual but I think pretty cool and has many gothic influences both inside and out. It was a real shame that they wouldn’t allow photography inside as you get to see many of Morris’ wallpaper and tapestry designs.

A cool old buffer was giving us the tour round and apart from looking really like my own grandad and occasionally forgetting stuff I thought he had real charm and enjoyed his style.

Enjoy all of my pictures from the Red House.
